Daily Trades — Future Features
Brain dump of ideas for future development. Not prioritized — just captured.
Trend Updates (breaking news on existing trends)
Some breaking news is actually a new chapter in an existing trend and should be allowed through our filter.
Examples:
- Trend: "AI is making hardware expensive" → Update: "DRAM just hit a new price record"
- Trend: "Europe is rearming" → Update: "France just doubled its defense budget"
- Trend: "Rare earth dependency on China" → Update: "China just restricted gallium exports"
These aren't random news — they're trend confirmations. The reader already knows the trend (or we've covered it). The news is evidence it's accelerating.
Possible format:
- Shorter than a full issue — 1-2 sentences on what happened, 1-2 on why it confirms the trend
- Same blast radius section
- Close ties back to the original trend
- Could be a secondary item alongside the main daily trend
Implementation:
- Filter prompt needs updating to allow breaking news IF it maps to a known scored trend in the pool
- DB would need a "parent_trend" or tag linking updates to original trends
- Could be a second content type: "Trend Spotlight" (main) + "Trend Update" (secondary)

Marketing & distribution
- Instagram/TikTok reels — short-form video content from daily trends
- Paid influencer partnerships targeting 20-30yr old male finance audience
- Organic social content repurposing newsletter items
- Agent-to-agent interview concept (AI agents interviewing each other about trends)
Multi-item issues
If the pool consistently produces 3+ high-quality headlines, expand to:
- 1 main "Trend Spotlight"
- 1-2 shorter "Trend Updates" or "On Our Radar" items
- Keep total read time under 5 minutes
Historical trend tracking
Track which trends we've covered and how they've played out over time. "We told you about X three months ago — here's what happened." Reinforces the FOMO/hindsight hook with real evidence.
